HEAD OF YEAR
Full-Time

Start date: September 2020
Main / Upper Scale plus TLR1B £9,900.00 per annum

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Head of Year. This is an exciting challenge for either an experienced teacher who is looking for additional responsibility or an experienced Head of Year. As Head of Year you will work collaboratively with your tutors, pastoral team and other middle and senior leaders. We are looking to appoint someone to develop and embed an ethos of high expectations, outstanding attitudes and learning with the year group, as well as develop strong professional relationships with students and parents.

SUBJECT LEADER FOR BUSINESS STUDIES

Full-Time

Start date: September 2020

Main / Upper Pay Scale plus TLR2B £4,528.00 per annum

We are looking to recruit a full time, dynamic and enthusiastic Business Studies teacher to lead the subject from September 2020. You will be experienced in teaching Business Studies at GCSE and A Level standard. Our aim is to appoint someone with the leadership skills and vision to take the department forward.

Business Studies is a successful and thriving department within the humanities faculty. It benefits from its own suite of rooms which are fully equipped with PCs. We currently run two A Level groups in both year 12 and 13, six option classes for GCSE in year 10 and five in year 11. In addition there are opportunities for sixth form students to gain qualifications for IFS courses.

You will be experienced in teaching Business Studies at GCSE and A Level standard. An ability to teach Economics to A Level would be an advantage.

TEACHER OF FOOD, HOSPITALITY AND CATERING

Main / Upper Pay Scale

Start date: September 2020

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of Food, Hospitality and Catering.  This is a permanent position from September 2020 (or possibly earlier by arrangement).  The candidate would ideally have experience in some or all of Food, Hospitality & Catering, and Food Preparation & Nutrition at Key Stage 3, GCSE/Level 2, or A Level/Level 3.  The Technology Faculty consists of a team of 18 teachers and 4 support staff working in modern, spacious and well-equipped facilities.  Food facilities include state-of-the-art practical rooms and one theory/computer room and are very well-resourced with equipment.   Redborne is committed to a broad and balanced curriculum and technology subjects remain very popular both at Key Stage 4 and in the sixth form.

The post would be suitable for both newly qualified and experienced teachers.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. A Level results are also very good with over half at A*, A or B grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and we have opened a new classroom block and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form. Redborne is also a National College Support School, a Leading Edge School and has Teaching School Status.
