Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400-seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form.

SCHOOL CLEANER / DAYTIME JANITOR / SOUTH TEAM LEADER

30 hours per week / term time only (plus 5 Training Days) – Permanent
Monday – Friday 11.00am – 5.30pm

(£11.18 – £11.81 per hour / £15,165.00 - £16,009.00 per annum depending on experience)

We wish to appoint a flexible, experienced, hardworking individual as a school cleaner, daytime janitor and south team leader in our large upper school.

The role includes a range of cleaning duties including:

  • Working in all areas of the school, including offices, classrooms, halls, corridors, toilets and staffrooms.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the school in line with the agreed cleaning specification.
  • Operating cleaning machinery in cleaning soft and hard surfaces, e.g. vacuum cleaners and polishers.
  • Vacuum cleaning hard and soft floors, Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors, handles and polishing door glass, emptying and cleaning bins, sweeping, mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
  • Supervising south team cleaners

NEURODIVERSITY LEAD – LEARNING SUPPORT

37 hours per week / term time only (plus 5 Training Days)
Monday – Thursday 8am – 4pm and Friday 8am – 3.30pm

Actual salary range will be £22,433 - £23,704

We wish to appoint a flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic Neurodiversity Lead to work with our Learning Support team. The role includes a range of duties including:

  • Managing and organising interventions with students either 1:1 or small groups.
  • Managing an inclusion room
  • Assisting the SENDCO in running parent/carer information and training sessions

Working in a school requires you to have strong organisational and communication skills. There will be face to face interaction with students, teachers, parents, and members of staff.

CURRICULUM SUPPORT ASSISTANT

37 hours per week / term time only (plus 5 Training Days)

Actual salary range will be £18,703 - £19,745

We wish to appoint a flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic Curriculum Support Assistant to work across the whole school. A specialism in English and/or Maths would be desirable but not essential. The nature of the work is in three broad areas:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the faculty
  • Working with students in classrooms or in small support groups within the designated curriculum team
  • Providing short-term absence cover for teachers where work has been set in advance by the teacher or by the subject leader.

With this role will come the responsibility of some independent teaching. We would welcome applications from those who have experience within schools and would like to progress to a post of greater responsibility. This post may also prove attractive to teachers who are planning to return to a post in education after a career break or to graduates who are considering teacher training and wish to gain experience in schools before applying. We are a teaching school and a number of colleagues who started with us in CSA roles subsequently went on to train as teachers with us and were then offered jobs on the teaching staff.

CASUAL DRIVERS

Variable Hours – Term-Time only Required ASAP

£11.18 per hour

We wish to appoint reliable, conscientious and trustworthy individuals to join our team of drivers. The main purpose is to transport students from either the school or their home address to and from various local educational establishments using the school mini-bus or car.

The hours are during term-time only and are variable but are often between 8.15am -10.15am and 2.15pm – 4.00pm. Flexibility is essential, as is a full, clean driving licence with the ability to drive a minibus. Driving experience is preferable but not essential.
