Year 9 Virtual Intake Evening
Welcome to our Virtual Intake Evening. We are really looking forward to welcoming you properly to Redborne, but for now, we hope you find this webpage useful.
Here you will find a presentation from senior staff that we would normally do face to face on Intake Evening. Hopefully, a combination of this presentation and the meeting you will have with your form tutor will go a long way to answering your questions, but if you do want to know more, please feel free to contact the year team.

The school will probably seem big when you first get here but you will soon get to know your way around and there will always be people to help you. Welcome to Redborne! There will be lots of chances to say “I can’t do this”, but be the student that says “I can’t do this yet”. Your experience of these 3 years of education are an opportunity to learn, grow and become someone you can be proud of. I can’t wait to meet you all.
Mr D Day
Hello :) And welcome to your new form class. Hopefully before too long we’ll be making a name for ourselves - for all the right reasons of course! I have been teaching at Redborne for seven years, and have even been in your exact position, joining year 9 as an ex-pupil myself. As much as I will be your support, and your first port of call for advice and guidance, your time at Redborne is exactly that… YOUR time. Establish yourself with really positive routines, and do your best. Fundamentally, be yourself, and take pride in doing so.
Mrs R Grainger
Welcome to Redborne, the next 3 years are an important chapter of your life. You will grow as an individual, make new friends, develop new interest and most importantly you will have a lot of fun. There will be ups and downs but we are all here to help and support you. A key thing to remember on this journey is “The sky has no limits. Neither should you” (Usain Bolt).
Mrs A Hubbard
It is my great honour and pleasure to welcome all of you to Redborne Upper School We all look very much forward to working with you in the coming years. I can’t even begin to describe how important it is for you to take advantage of and exploit the facilities and resources offered by our School. To a certain extent you could say learning at this school is learning to succeed and to define a field or an area to pursue at universities or other postâsecondary institutions or as your future career. As you’ll soon discover, the knowledge to acquire is vast. Good luck to all of you and have a fantastic year!
Mrs C Hunt
